Freedom In Wickedness

It is a consistent theme in past cultures that elite courtesans were often the only truly free women. They were women of intellect, education, and power in worlds which denied that a woman could be anything.

It's time to reclaim that heritage.

So over the last month, a meme that’s become popular in the Tumblr trans community is the claim that females have privilege over males, and in particular that this female privilege means that accusations of abuse will be taken more seriously when they come from females. Here is an example of that claim being made.

Females have privilege that makes it easier for them to accuse others of abusive behaviour. I… I don’t even.

I used to think associating trans politics with the MRM was overly harsh.

With each passing day, I become more confused as to how I ever bought into trans ideology.

As the person who MADE the original post, I can say with absolute certainty that you are completely misconstruing what I said.

I very specifically said that CAFAB trans* people are privileged over CAMAB trans* people. The point is that male privilege is reversed when talking about trans* people as opposed to cis people, because transitioning away from a female birth assignment is perceived by society as an affirmation of male supremacy, whereas transitioning away from a male birth assignment is perceived by society as a rejection of male supremacy. That is explicitly specific to trans people; it is not saying that cis women are in any way privileged over cis men.

You’re also missing the context of that statement, which was made in direct response to an actual incident of a trans man (Ira Grey) raping his then-girlfriend. This was something that actually split the trans community, with CAMAB trans* people actively and vocally siding with the victim but a significant majority of CAFAB trans* people siding with the rapist and making all the victim-blaming arguments you’d expect from MRAs. I’ll say that again: all of the victim blaming, all of the men’s rights bullshit, was coming from CAFAB trans* people, not CAMAB trans* people.
