Okay so, why the ever loving fuck would police assume a naked individual is a threat?

Racism.

See, even campus police, who are supposedly a “step down” from cops, are trigger happy.

In my (considerable) experience, campus police are usually either wannabes who couldn’t make it in an actual police force, or has-beens who got kicked out of actual police forces for egregious misbehavior. Either way, they are far, far more dangerous to PoC than most police; they’re much, much more aggressive.
